Tasks
Tasks are the simplest way to delegate work to your assistant.
Think of Tasks as a to-do list that you share with Town. You write down what needs to happen, your assistant starts working on it, and the task stays visible while it moves forward. If your assistant needs more information, approval, or review, it comes back to you in the task thread.
That makes Tasks a good place for both quick one-off requests and larger things you want to hand off without losing track of them.
What is a task?
A task is a job you hand your Townie in the moment — you ask, it does it. Some tasks are quick and self-contained; others are part of something bigger you’re working through, where you keep coming back to add the next piece (planning an event, pulling together a deck, working a deal).
Just describe what you need in plain language, like you would to an assistant, and your Townie uses what it knows about you to handle it the way you would. It’ll also suggest tasks based on what’s in your inbox and calendar right now.
You can hand off a task from anywhere — the chat bar on your home screen, email, Slack, and more. (See all the ways to reach your Townie)
Some ideas for tasks:
- “Summarize this email thread and tell me if I need to reply.”
- “Draft a reply to this in my voice.”
- “Find the Q3 planning doc and pull out the key dates.”
- “Prep me for my meeting with Jordan — who are they and what’s the latest?”
- “Research this company and give me a quick rundown before my call.”
- “Add Priya to my partners doc with her email and title.”
Start small. Add one thing you were already going to do today. Then add the next one. Over time, Tasks becomes the running list of work you no longer need to carry alone.
