Goal Drift Tracker
The Goal Drift Tracker is a routine your Townie AI assistant runs weekly: it reads your goals doc, then checks each workstream's real activity — Linear issue movement, email threads, meeting notes — to judge what's on track, at risk, or off track, and why. You get one forwardable status summary grouped by status, with a collegial nudge drafted for each owner whose workstream is slipping.
See it work: the drift diagnosed before Monday
Catch the workstream slipping off our goals
Status plus the why — never just "behind".
It runs before the week starts
Sunday evening or Monday morning — early enough that you can act on the drift before it becomes the week's surprise.
It reads the real activity
The goals doc for what should be happening, then Linear movement, email threads, and meeting notes for what actually is — mapped to each workstream's real owner, even when the doc doesn't name one.
You get the diagnosis, plus the nudges
One forwardable summary, problems at the top, each with the reason it's slipping — and a collegial nudge drafted per owner, held until you've looked it over.
Goal Drift Tracker FAQ
It's a routine your Townie AI assistant runs once a week: it reads your goals or OKR doc, checks each workstream's actual activity across Linear, email, and meeting notes, and judges what's on track, at risk, or off track — with the reason why. You get a single summary you can forward to your principal, plus a drafted nudge for each owner whose workstream is slipping. The message on this page is the instruction that builds it.
No — the nudges are drafts until you approve them, and the summary goes only to you. Town reads only the accounts you connect, scoped to your access. Read more in our security overview.
By evidence, not vibes: a workstream is only called off track when the underlying activity backs it up — issues that stopped moving, threads that went silent, notes that show it was deprioritized. The summary always states the reason alongside the status.
Wherever your goals doc lives (Google Drive or a wiki), your issue tracker (Linear works well), and your email. If a workstream lives somewhere else — a different tracker, a spreadsheet — your assistant folds it in when you connect it.
They're written collegial by default — referencing the specific stalled thing and offering an unblock, not assigning blame. You review every one before it goes out, and you can set the standing tone with a single message.
