Gmail integration FAQ
Town's Gmail integration connects your inbox through Google's official sign-in — one click, no setup. Your Townie can read and search your email, keep it organized with labels and archiving, and draft replies in your voice; anything that sends waits for your approval. It's Town's core connection, and the one most people make the moment they sign up.
Town only reads your email when you (or a routine you configured) ask for it, and access is scoped to the account you connect. Replies are created as drafts, and nothing sends without your approval. Read more about how Town approaches security.
By default, no — replies land in Drafts in your voice, and anything that sends is held for your approval first. If you want a routine to run more autonomously, you opt in per routine; you're always in control of how much it does alone.
The inbox of the account you connect. Under the hood these are Town's email tools: search and read emails, get full threads, list folders and labels, add and remove labels, archive and move messages, list and fetch attachments, and create drafts.
You need a Google account with Gmail, and a Town account — free to start. The Gmail connection works on every Town plan.
Smart replies are one-tap one-liners. Town drafts real replies in your voice, with your calendar, documents, and past threads in hand — and it works unattended, triaging your inbox and chasing follow-ups on a schedule you set, not just when you're staring at a message.
What is Gmail?
Gmail is where most of the working world's email lives — the inbox behind billions of accounts, and for many teams the front door for every request, decision, and commitment of the workday.
Gmail holds the conversation; Town works it. Connected, your inbox gets triaged on a schedule, replies show up drafted in your voice, and the commitments buried in threads land on your calendar and to-do list.
