Linear integration FAQ
Town's Linear integration connects your workspace through Linear's official sign-in — one click, no setup. Your Townie can read issues, projects, teams, and workflow states, and — with your approval — create and update issues with owners, priorities, and due dates, add comments, and manage projects and labels.
Town only touches Linear when you (or a routine you configured) ask for it, and access is scoped to what your Linear account can see. Nothing is written to your workspace without your approval. Read more about how Town approaches security.
By default, no — new issues, edits, comments, and status changes are held for your approval before they land, so your team's board never moves without you seeing it. If you want a routine to run more autonomously, you opt in per routine.
The teams, issues, and projects your Linear account can see. Under the hood these are Town's Linear tools: list and read issues and projects; browse teams, members, workflow states, and labels; and, with approval, create and update issues and projects, add comments, and create labels.
You need a Linear account — the free plan works — and a Town account, free to start. The Linear connection works on every Town plan.
Linear's AI works inside Linear. Town works across your whole stack — your calls, inbox, and calendar plus the tracker — so tickets get filed from what happens outside Linear, and what's inside it reaches the people who never open it.
What is Linear?
Linear is the project tracker fast-moving product and engineering teams run on — issues, projects, and cycles in a tool built for speed and focus.
Linear holds the plan; Town keeps it fed and legible. Connected, your calls become tickets with owners and due dates, stale issues get chased, and progress turns into updates anyone can read.
