Asana integration FAQ
Town's Asana integration connects your workspace through Asana's official sign-in — one click, no setup. Your Townie can read your tasks, projects, and workspaces, and — with your approval — create and update tasks with assignees and due dates, mark work complete, and add comments.
Town only touches Asana when you (or a routine you configured) ask for it, and access is scoped to what your Asana account can see. Nothing is written to your projects without your approval. Read more about how Town approaches security.
By default, no — new tasks, edits, reassignments, and comments are held for your approval before they land, so a project your whole team works from never changes without you seeing it. If you want a routine to run more autonomously, you opt in per routine.
The tasks, projects, and workspaces your Asana account can see. Under the hood these are Town's Asana tools: list and read tasks and projects, browse workspaces, and — with approval — create and update tasks (names, descriptions, assignees, due dates, completion) and add comments. Town doesn't create or delete projects.
You need an Asana account — the free plan works — and a Town account, free to start. The Asana connection works on every Town plan.
Asana's AI works inside Asana. Town works across your whole stack — your meetings, inbox, and calendar plus your projects — so tasks get created from what happens outside Asana, and status reaches the people who never open it.
What is Asana?
Asana is the work management platform cross-functional teams run on — marketing launches, ops processes, and company-wide projects tracked as tasks with owners, due dates, and timelines.
Asana holds the work; Town keeps it moving. Connected, your meetings become assigned tasks, overdue work gets a nudge, and status questions get answered without a status meeting.
