Google Calendar integration FAQ

Town's Google Calendar integration connects your calendar through Google's official sign-in — one click, no setup. Your Townie can read your schedule and, with your approval, create and change events. Under the hood these are Town's calendar tools: list events, get event details, create, edit, and delete events.

Town only reads your calendar when you (or a routine you configured) ask for it, and access is scoped to the account you connect. By default, event changes and invites wait for your approval; routines can opt into automatic finalization when you enable that setting. Read more about how Town approaches security.

By default, no — new events, reschedules, and invites are drafted and held for your approval. If you want a routine to run more autonomously, you opt in per routine; you're always in control of how much it does alone.

Your events and availability on the calendar you connect — what's scheduled, when you're free, who's attending. It reads exactly what a request needs, and pairs calendar context with your email and meeting notes for scheduling replies and prep.

You need a Google account with a calendar, and a Town account — free to start. The Google Calendar connection works on every Town plan.

No — it works alongside one. A scheduling link makes people pick from your openings; Town drafts the reply with real times in it, which often closes scheduling in one email. If you use Calendly or Cal.com, Town connects to those too.
