X Reply Shortlist

X Reply Shortlist is a routine your Townie AI assistant runs each weekday morning: it reads recent posts from the accounts you care about plus your mentions, keeps only the 3–5 genuinely worth your engagement, and sends one Slack DM with a reply drafted in your voice for each. It never posts — every reply is yours to send.

Drafts only — nothing ever posts itself.

See it work: five minutes of X, not fifty

Never miss a post worth replying to

A shortlist with drafts — the sending stays yours.

How this routine works

  1. It runs each weekday morning

Before you'd otherwise open the app, your Townie reads recent posts from the accounts you named — plus every mention and reply that came in since yesterday.

  2. It keeps only what's worth you

A question you can answer well, a conversation you should be part of, a person you're building a relationship with, a mention waiting on you. Engagement bait and viral noise get dropped.

  3. You get drafts, not homework

One Slack DM: each post with a one-line reason it made the cut and a reply drafted in your voice. Nothing posts itself — you edit and send.

X Reply Shortlist FAQ

It's a routine your Townie AI assistant runs each weekday morning: it reads recent posts from the X accounts you care about plus your mentions, picks the 3–5 posts genuinely worth your engagement, and sends one Slack DM with a reply or quote post drafted in your voice for each — with a one-line reason it's worth your time. If nothing clears the bar, it stays silent.

No — Town's X connection is read-only by design. The routine reads posts and mentions and drafts replies, but nothing can go out on your behalf; every reply is yours to paste and send. Read more in our security overview.

Your X account for the posts and mentions, and Slack (or email) for the shortlist. Give it a starting list of accounts you care about — it refines the list as it learns who matters to you.

It looks for posts where your reply adds something: an open question you can answer well, a conversation in your world, a person you're investing in a relationship with, or a mention that needs a response. Tell your assistant what a great reply opportunity looks like for you and it tightens the bar from that one message.
