Just ask your Townie

Your team keeps score in spreadsheets. Town keeps them filled in — from your meetings, email, and asks.

  • “Where did we land with Acme?”

The row's status, owner, and next step, answered wherever you ask.

  • “Set up a tracker for the Q3 launch.”

Columns, tabs, and first rows, built in your Drive.

  • “Total Q2 spend by vendor.”

Read from the sheet and answered in plain English, with the math shown.

Google Sheets integration FAQ

Town's Google Sheets integration connects your spreadsheets through Google's official sign-in — one click, no setup. Your Townie can read data from any sheet, add and update rows, manage tabs, and create new spreadsheets; every change is held for your approval. It's how the trackers, logs, and lists your team lives in stay current without hand-entry.

Town only reads your sheets when you (or a routine you configured) ask for it, and access is scoped to the Google account you connect. Every edit is drafted and held for your approval before it touches the sheet. Read more about how Town approaches security.

By default, no — every change is drafted and held for your approval, so nothing lands in a sheet your team depends on without you seeing it first. If you want a routine to run more autonomously, you opt in per routine.

The spreadsheets in the Google account you connect. Under the hood these are Town's Google Drive tools: read data from any range, update cells and append rows, insert and delete rows and columns, manage tabs, create new spreadsheets, and search your Drive for the right file.

You need a Google account — Sheets comes free with it — and a Town account, free to start. The Google Sheets connection works on every Town plan.

Gemini helps while you're in the grid. Town works when you're not: it carries what happened in your meetings and email into the sheet on a schedule, and brings the sheet's answers back to your inbox, briefs, and chats.

What is Google Sheets?

Google Sheets is the spreadsheet where much of the working world actually runs — the client trackers, project logs, content calendars, and budget sheets teams share, argue over, and live in.

The sheet holds the state of the work; Town keeps it true. Connected, meetings and email become rows your Townie drafts for approval, and any question a sheet can answer gets answered where you work.
