How to connect Zoom to Town

  1. Open Integrations in Town

Go to Integrations in your Town workspace (free to create) and find Zoom.

  2. Authorize the connection

Sign in to Zoom when prompted. Town can read your meetings, recordings, and transcripts, and schedule or update meetings with your approval. Nothing to install or configure.

  3. Put your meetings to work

Done — a brief before your calls, recaps drafted after them, and answers from any transcript.

Just ask your Townie

Zoom hosts the meeting. Town handles what comes before and after, in your inbox, calendar, and docs.

  • “Set up a 30-minute Zoom with the Acme team Thursday.”

Created with agenda and link, invite drafted for your approval.

  • “What did Dana say about pricing on Tuesday?”

The exact wording from the Zoom transcript, in seconds.

  • “What did I miss on the Northstar call?”

Who was there and what was said, from the summary and transcript.

Zoom integration FAQ

Town's Zoom integration is a connection to your Zoom account. Your Townie can read your meetings, past participants, cloud recordings, transcripts, and AI meeting summaries, and — with your approval — create and update meetings and add registrants. You authorize it from Town's Integrations page with a Zoom sign-in; no API keys or setup.

Town only reads Zoom data when you (or a routine you configured) ask for it, and access is scoped to the account you connect. Anything Town drafts or changes — recap emails, new meetings, registrants — waits for your approval. Read more about how Town approaches security.

Three things, each held for your approval: creating meetings, updating them, and adding registrants. Everything else — recordings, transcripts, summaries, participants — is read-only. Town never joins, records, or deletes anything.

Your meetings and what came out of them. Under the hood these are Town's Zoom tools: list meetings, get meeting details, list past participants, get meeting recordings, list all recordings, get meeting transcript, get meeting summary, create meeting, update meeting, and add meeting registrants.

Scheduling tools work with any Zoom account. Recordings, transcripts, and AI summaries rely on Zoom's cloud recording and AI Companion, which come with paid Zoom plans. Town is free to start, and the Zoom connection works on every Town plan.

Zoom is where your meetings happen — video, recordings, transcripts. Town is an AI assistant that acts on them: the brief gets written, the recap gets drafted, and the next call gets scheduled, across your whole stack.

What is Zoom?

Zoom is the video platform where most teams' meetings happen — the calls themselves, plus the cloud recordings, transcripts, and AI summaries they leave behind.

Zoom hosts the conversation; Town does the work around it. Connected, every meeting comes with a brief before, a recap after, and answers from any transcript in between.
