Fathom integration FAQ
The Fathom MCP is Fathom's hosted Model Context Protocol server at api.fathom.ai/mcp — the official integration surface Fathom maintains. MCP is the open standard that lets AI assistants securely search and read data from apps — in this case your Fathom meetings, summaries, action items, and transcripts. Town connects to it in one click; no API keys or local setup.
Town only reads Fathom data when you (or a routine you configured) ask for it, and access is scoped to what your Fathom account can see. Anything Town drafts from it — emails, nudges, docs — waits for your approval. Read more in our how Town approaches security.
No — the connection is read-only. Recording, transcription, and highlights stay in Fathom. Town acts on the meetings elsewhere: action items on your to-do list, drafted follow-ups, briefs, and docs.
Your meetings and their AI summaries, action items, and transcripts, plus your teams and the people who spoke on your calls. Under the hood these are Fathom's MCP tools: list meetings, get meeting summary, get meeting transcript, search meetings, find person, list teams, and recording lookup by call ID or share link.
You need a Fathom account with recorded meetings, and a Town account — free to start. The Fathom connection works on every Town plan.
Fathom is an AI notetaker that records, transcribes, and summarizes your video calls. Town is an AI assistant that acts on your work — email, calendar, to-do list, docs. Connected, the action items Fathom captures actually get done: listed, nudged, and followed up, with you approving anything that goes out.
What is Fathom?
Fathom is an AI notetaker for video calls. It records and transcribes your meetings, then turns each one into an AI summary with action items, so nobody on the call has to take notes.
Fathom captures the call and the commitments; Town makes them happen. Connected, every meeting becomes action items on your list, drafted follow-ups, and a brief before the next call.
