monday.com integration FAQ

Town's monday.com integration is a secure connection to your monday.com account. Your Townie can read your boards, items, groups, and column values, and — with your approval — create items, subitems, groups, columns, and boards, move statuses and other column values, rename items, and post updates. You authorize it from Town's Integrations page by signing in to monday.com; no API keys or setup.

Town only reads monday.com data when you (or a routine you configured) ask for it, and access is scoped to the account you connect. Board changes wait for your approval. Read more about how Town approaches security.

By default, no — new items, status changes, renames, and posted updates are drafted and held for your approval before they land, so the board your whole team looks at never changes without you seeing it. If you want a routine to run more autonomously, you opt in per routine.

The boards, items, groups, and column values your monday.com account can see. Under the hood these are Town's monday.com tools: read board items page by page, get column values, and find items by column value; and — with approval — create items, subitems, groups, columns, and boards, update column values and item names, and post updates. Town doesn't delete anything, and your monday automations stay untouched.

You need a monday.com account and a Town account — free to start. The monday.com connection works on every Town plan.

monday.com's AI works inside your boards. Town works across your whole stack — your meetings, inbox, and calendar plus your boards — so statuses get moved from what happens outside monday.com, and the board answers people who never open it.

What is monday.com?

monday.com is the visual work platform teams run projects on — boards of items with color-coded status columns, owners, dates, and update threads, built so anyone can see where work stands at a glance.

A board is only as good as its last update; Town keeps it current. Connected, your meetings and email become status changes and new items drafted for your approval, and the board answers questions wherever you ask.
