Copper integration FAQ
Town's Copper integration connects your CRM to your AI assistant with a Copper API key — set up in about a minute, nothing to install. Your Townie can read your pipelines, opportunities, people, and companies, and with your approval it can create and update them, so the record stays current from the inbox where your deals actually happen.
Town only reads Copper data when you (or a routine you configured) ask for it, and access is scoped to what your Copper API key can see. Record changes wait for your approval. Read more about how Town approaches security.
By default, no — new records and updates are drafted and held for your approval, so nothing lands in the CRM your team relies on without you seeing it. If you want a routine to run more autonomously, you opt in per routine.
Your pipelines and their stages, opportunities, people, companies, and projects. Under the hood these are Town-built tools: list pipelines with stages and win probabilities, search and read opportunities, look up people, companies, and other records, create and update opportunities, people, and projects, and link records to projects — every write held for your approval.
You need a Copper plan that includes API access — if you don't see API Keys under Settings → Integrations in Copper, ask your Copper admin. On the Town side you just need an account — free to start, and the connection works on every Town plan.
Copper's Gmail sidebar shows you the record while you work; you still do the typing. Town does the typing: replies drafted with the deal in hand, record updates drafted from your threads, briefs before every client call, and answers wherever you work — you just approve.
What is Copper?
Copper is the CRM built for Google Workspace — pipelines, opportunities, people, and companies managed right alongside Gmail and Google Calendar, by teams that run on relationships: agencies, consultancies, and other client businesses.
Copper keeps the record next to your email; Town does the work between them. Connected, your client threads become drafted replies and record updates, and any question about a deal is answered wherever you work.
