Cal.com integration FAQ
Town's Cal.com integration connects your Cal.com account to Town with an API key you create in Cal.com — no OAuth app to configure. Your Townie can read your bookings and real bookable slots, and, with your approval, create and cancel bookings. Town also syncs your event types and their booking URLs, so it shares the right link for you.
Town only reads your Cal.com data when you (or a routine you configured) ask for it, and access is scoped to the API key you connect — revoke it in Cal.com any time. New bookings and cancellations wait for your approval. Read more about how Town approaches security.
By default, no — creating a booking and canceling one are both held for your approval before anything changes on your calendar. If you want a routine to run more autonomously, you opt in per routine; you decide how much it does alone.
Your bookings — upcoming, past, and canceled — with their attendees, plus real bookable slots for each event type, and your event types with their booking URLs. Under the hood these are Town's Cal.com tools: get booking, get all bookings, get bookable slots, create booking, and cancel booking.
You need a Cal.com account that can create an API key (Settings → Developer → API keys on cal.com), and a Town account — free to start. The Cal.com connection works on every Town plan.
Not yet — the connection talks to Cal.com's hosted API at api.cal.com, using the API key from your cal.com account. A self-hosted instance's API isn't reachable through this connection today.
What is Cal.com?
Cal.com is the open-source scheduling platform behind the booking link. You set your availability and event types once — an intro, a demo, office hours — and people book straight onto your calendar, no back-and-forth.
Cal.com takes the booking; Town handles what the booking sets in motion. Connected, the prep drafts itself, the right link lands in every reply, and a cancellation becomes three fresh times on offer.
